Apologies, guys, if it seems like I am fishing for compliments, for I am really not! Mind you, it does mean a lot to me, and I am glad you enjoyed my post (even if it was one big, ranting complaint). I appreciate it more than I could say, and you should all be proud of yourselves for being big helps and absolutely splendid people! It means quite a lot to me that you all care.
Remnantpark:
Aw, thanks bunches, honeychile! How sweet of you, to both compliment and offer such a long post for help. (And your word choices and grammar seem pretty darn good.) ^_^
Aha! I myself am younger than the majority of my classmates (my birthday being in October), so I know how you feel there. Up until about the eighth grade I was the teacher's pet, too. :X And the same goes for my band teacher; it is difficult for me to play in front of him, because he intimidates me quite a lot and even though both I and my lesson partner know that I am an apt musician, he scares the jeebies out of me. Kind of irrelevant, maybe, but we are in the same boat! *High-five*
Unfortunately, I have tried practicing, as you and the others have said, and so much as to overpracticing in some cases my freshman year. Before our band trip, I was practicing nine hours a day on weekends, and if I had consistently done that up until now my tone would be awesome, but my flute has died not once, not twice, but four times in the past eight months. :/ It is agitating, but you're right...if I show my enthusiasm more than I do and stop having such an attitude with him (but wouldn't you if the teacher said "shut up, you're giving me a headache" every time you try and speak?) maybe he will actually care by senior year. If anything, he can serve as a good reccomendation letter, right? Right. Now to find a private teacher...there has to be one around here somewhere! Thank you very much, you are pretty darn awesome.
Jose:
I am looking for a challenge in regards to my Solo and Ensemble music, but I am always on the search for new music to practice for my own peace of mind. If you would send it to me, that would be really amazing...and even better, if you ever get your hands on that second one.
You are fantastic, if I haven't said so.
Tibbiecow:
Ahhhhh, yes, I have the same problem where the headjoint doesn't play for me but it does for my band director! (It is a school flute and he is far more used to using the monster than I am.) Once I get my cleaning rod from my own flute's case, I will try that for a temporary resolution until I can get a new flute. Thank you!
Flauta:
Wargh, my flute is an Armstrong. It worked well for a few years, but now it is a broken-down pain in the tushie.
