I Wouldn't Touch It With A Ten Foot Poll.

It's Only A C-Footjoint

NOT WORTH IT

it's probably a typo because if it were really worth that much the person would be talking their butt of trying to explain why. this seems like a standard "person selling unwanted student model flute" ad. but the value of a flute isn't necessarily lowered because of the footjoint...there are c footjoint flutes that could potentially be much more expenssive than b footjoint flutes.

that is what I think flauta...unless someone really thinks an unnamed student flute is worth that much lol

Yep, that has got to be a typo. Rem is right, that is just a student Gemeinhardt flute. You can buy one for less then $400 brand new too.

Or maybe guy looked up flutes prices on the internet, and saw professoinal flutes selling for $4000 and didn't realize there are different level flutes. He must of just figured 'hey if they can sell them for that much, maybe I can'. Kind of like the people on ebay who sell used flute for the same price as the new ones.

Or it could have been a typo like everyone else said.

I have worked on 125+ brands of flute, and there are probably many more brands than that out there that I have not worked on. I would not even begin to attempt put a brand label on that photo.

I have worked on way less then that and I can even tell that it is a student Gemeinhardt. I would have thought you knew your brands better then that.... I know a Gemeinhardt when I see one. Go ahead and asking the seller.

It also could be an S series which is a basically a Gemeinhardt stamped with a different brand name.

Based on the distinctive key style and headjoint crown, and the seller's geographical location, I also believe it is a Gemeinhardt student model.

Yes, possibly Gemeinhardt, but how do you know it is not Grassi, Hernals, Kohlert, Tecumi, etc?

Because it looks exactly like a Gemeinhardt and not like a Grassi, Hernal, Kohler, Tecumi... ext.

well, I would fork over $4,000 as long as it has the brand label I have trusted for so many years now...SIMBA
