I only played an offset g because that flute just fell into my lap, so to speak, a woman at my dads work was selling it so he bought it for me as the next step up from beginner. it happened to have an offset g. My teacher didnt pick that flute for me, because she wasnt my teacher yet. If an inline had been avalible I probably would habe gone with that, but it was a beautiful flute for a great price so I went for it. But she thunks an inline is better for me. Maybe its not common but for my long fingers inline g feels better to me.
