hi there
I have a piccolo( it has been passed hand by hand and now it's mine! )
there's been a bug in my mind turning and tossing about learning piccolo for several months!
i dont know it's worth the trouble or not.i mean it seems (maybe i'm wrong)this instrument does not have a remarkable role and position among other instruments.i personally love it and really feel at home with it but ,you know ,learning an instrument means spending(or rather investing) a life on it .Can you tell me what you think about piccolo? is it a popular instrument or has jus' few lovers?
thanks

If you are serious about the flute and want to create opportunities as a musician, then learning piccolo is vital, I have had many doors open for me because of my ability to play picc in a variety of positions.

If you listen to great orchestral music, you will hear many famous piccolo solos from Beethoven to the present...

If you really love the piccolo then go for it.

Do you play flute? If not, most people start off on the flute first before piccolo. I would advice to do that also.
