It would be much quicker. Fluteworld has most of the items listed on its website/in its catalog in stock most of the time. I've gotten orders in as few as 4 or 5 days from them. If something you've ordered is out of stock, it may take longer, but you can always call the company and get an estimated delivery date.

I always get my music through Flute World. If the order was placed before 4PM there time and it is in stock, (in which is usually) they will ship it out that very day, if not then next day. They are very good about that. When you do order you have a choice for shipping and it will give you the prices. So you can order it next day or second day air if need be.

I would recommend 2nd day air as it is usually not much more that the regular shipping...

I just ordered something and it was PDQ; it came in a VERY stiff package (so that it would not get bent or folded) via USPS priority mail.
I will often give my local music store a chance to order something for me, even if I have to pay 10% more. The owner plays in the community band I'm in, so I can ask him for it by phone and pick it up on Thursday night, which is pretty convenient. But this is best for, say, Voxman's advanced duet book or something like that which is pretty common. I wouldn't wait the 3 weeks, though.
