I hope you don't get a picture of a pile of undissolved baking soda sitting on the flute.

Ah yes, the old pile of white sitting on the flute...No that wouldn't be good...or work well!

Those other points are well taken from that article. That's why the tarnish shield application is necessary afterwards as well as having an air compressor to blow out stuff from inside the post holes etc. A pipe cleaner would do nicely also to clean out all the moisture and residue.

Micron..where ya been...A little holiday?

Thank you for so much information.

My idea of washing the HJ was just in case there was sulphur residues inside the tube, as I played for a while in a suspected sulphur contaminated area (diesel fuel vapours in a garage).

After all, soap and water have always been the most efficient and simple way of cleaning almost everything.

No intention of using baking soda (in solution or dry) on my Yamaha for many many, years...I hope.

The article from silversmiths is very interesting and makes us notice that silver, in spite of being a noble metal, can be easily damaged by so many things. Including geothermal activity! That one is the last I would have thought of...(LOL)

Fortunately soap and water is not included in the list, possible risks for the cork left apart.

I am sure yours is a very interesting and varied country.

I knew almost nothing about it until I saw that famous music-related film a few years ago.

My negotiations with the manufacturer I told you some time ago are practically completed and I may go and visit them (and the most of the country I could( in the near future.

Yes it was. Just did not want to mention it explicitly for privacy reasons.
That film showed lots of the beautiful landscape and was interesting in many aspects. I have not seen Lord of the rings, it is not the type of cinema I like.
If I go there, I will let you know.

My idea was washing all of it, but particularly the inside of the tube, which is difficult to clean thoroughly with the rod. The outside can be cleaned (and inspected) very well just with the cloth.

Thank you very much for your warm concepts. I had noticed in the past that you were not willing to identify the country and when in doubt, I prefer to remain on the safe side.

All those other films you mention are unknown to me and I am afraid most of them have not been distributed here in Spain.

But there is also the issue of the translation of film names; their titles in Spanish almost always have little or no relationship with the original name. Exceptions are those films that are based on famous books and the distributors have no interest in losing that marketing advantage.

The piano is another exception and here the name was the same. But in other Spanish-speaking countries it was named "The piano lesson"

Could you please tell the name of the young lead actor of Whale rider? This could help me in identifying the film.

But Lord of the Rings of course was here in due time and was a big success. I did not know it had been filmed in NZ; now I know, sure I will watch it.

I do enjoy the spectacular scenery of your country (the little I know from it). And I find also quite impressive all the achievements you mention.

I will receive the first samples of the products I want to market in the coming days and if everything runs as I expect, most probably I will be visiting it in this same year.

We lived for 15 years in Venezuela that also has a beautiful tropical coast and wild mountains and, although that was 17 years ago, I still regret having had to leave that country. Here everything is completely different....

I used to be a huge Xena Warrior until it "jumped the shark". Used to watch the double header Hercules with Kevin Sorbo and Then Xena..

Yes, valencia is a nice city and I like it. It is only some 350 Km from my city, so it is easy and cheap to visit from here. I have been there many times, because I have some business with local companies there.

They speak a variant of Catalan, very similar (I do not dare say "equal") to the Catalan in Barcelona, but everybody is willing to talk in Spanish as soon as they detect you do not speak their language. They are in general kind people and have invested lots of money and efforts to recover many areas of the city and develop the tourism.

There are a few new attractions, like a big ocean aquarium and some Arts museums. In spite of that, it is still a medium size city, that can be visited in two or three days.

Of course the most worldwide famous local feast are "Las Fallas" (in April). A full week of street celebrations with an apocalyptic end, when al the "Fallas" (huge monuments made of wood and carton that represent famous people or artistic constructions) are all burned in the last night. Except one, that is spared by popular polls and is sent to a local museum.
