If it has never been played, how does the seller know it has 'great full tone quality'?

Exactly. Just because an instrument has never been played, does not guarantee it has a good tone, etc.

Not sure, but I think if you look at the plate on the case, it looks like it says, "Bundy." I just started playing with my Gemeinhardt flute....I am actually a clarinet player, but my marching band, starter, beginner band, resonite, plastic clarinet was a Bundy clarinet....wonder if this is the same level as that?

It does say right in the ad that it is a Selmer Bundy. I will not comment about the quality, but I can say that I would not compare it to a Yamaha or even Armstong as it is said in the ad. The seller has revised the ad. He was saying that closed holes were made for better intonation on a flute and that is why I posted it on here.

When I started off on flute, I used a Bundy for four years and luckily it was okay. Then again, back then I most likely wouldn't have known if it wasn't.

Sad to say that in reality this Selmer Bundy II may actually become a 'step up' instrument for someone who bought one of the really bad "gold and Pink" junkers out there.

Used to be that most of the kids in the U.S. basically had a choice between Armstrong, Bundy, Artley, and maybe Gemeinhardts.

As a matter of fact, over in the U.K back in the 60s some guy named Ian Anderson started out on and recorded a few albums with his band on a Selmer flute.
