I am not too fond of them. They get in the way and annoy me.

if a flute is well designed you don't need it, if it is installed perfectly, I rather like them...

I have one on my Pearl 765 CODA. I can't really even tell that it's there. Maybe my right hand pinky is used to flutes without it?

Personally, I wouldn't pay any extra for it, but if it's included on the flute, it doesn't do any harm.

i know that when i first bought my muramatsu ds, the roller came standard on it. i special ordered it to not have the roller on it because i hated it. i can move perfectly fine from C# to Eb without the roller, thank you. (i just wanted to know opinions....... theyre fun.) :-)

Micron,

Are you talking about low Bb to B? I thought the Bb lever that existed, did so on the LH pinky side of the flute? I haven't seen a low Bb key on the right side. Is that wat you were talking about?

I think he's talking about using the left hand tumb keys for middle B flat to B.

i wasnt aware that they even put a roller on that key... i figured everyone could do that trill. and why would one require a roller from B to Bb????

The point Micon made was that it was using thumb Bb...not 1+1 or 1+RH Bb Lever
