I had an amazing summer and am more confident in my playing. I went to a choir camp and the conductor (full professor of graduate music studies at a canadian university) highly recommend that I look into and audition for MMus performance. (I was completely floored by this statement..). Ok, so now that she has put the bug in my head, I am looking. Most programs require that you have 3 letters of reference, at least one academic (ie from a university prof). I graduated BMus in 1999, 8 years ago, so I don't think any profs would remember me well enough to write letter. So, now what do I do. Are all potential grad students who didn't go straight from undergrad to grad screwed because of these letters? I really want to go back! UGH

Well, Don't you have one person who recommended this? Perhaps this conductor "full professor of graduate music studies at a canadian university" may write up something. What more could you ask for in a recommendation?
The only drawback may be that you could have forgotten a few things in the 8 years. I know that in the US there is an admission test that we had to take but as far as doing the course work, I actually found it a tas easier than undergrad work.

Not that it's the same in any way...but I yook 8 years off after HighSchool...and all of my old band/orchestra directors either retired or became MIA. The school wanted references from HS band directors, etc. People that knew your playing...However...when I called the school of Music, and asked about this..they led me in the right direction for my special circumstances, and then accepted me.
