Dennis, sounds like you did okay, you said yourself you only decided 4 days before... I think you should feel good about this, and ask yourself, "maybe I should make my mind up about things a little more in advance, eh?"

Congrats!!!

Dennis, once again my computer is acting up, so I am having trouble copying. I will work on it and send it when I can.

Well I totally didn't want to audition. I only decided to because I felt obligated, but to know that I did well after only 4 days is encouraging. I don't think I could have been more prepared at this time. I still have a few things to work on in my technique and tone, and I couldn't find a recording of the Daphnis in time to hear exactly how soft the section we played was...so that probably cost me a chair or two. I just played the Hindemith Sonate first mvt. in Studio class on Wednesday, and totally rocked it! So much music I'm working on this semester. The professor said I'm learning things very quickly, and said it was a great idea for me to start doing the competitions that I want to do this semester (the ones I'm not too old to do anyway!). We'll see how those go. Any hints from "Hymn of Pan" veterans? :-)
