flutist06, i live in england (the midlands). I think overal the easiest way of saying what you play (in informal situations) is just "i'm a flute" or "i'm piccolo" - do you say that where you live?

It's not uncommon, but I usually just stick to "I'm a flutist." Simple enough, and people know what you mean.
