Has anyone ever played on a intermediate-ish Bundy (division of Selmer) piccolo? In no means am I a clarinet player, but I have heard many bad things about Selmer's clarinets. They make flutes as well, but are their piccolos actually any good?

Bundys aren't the worst you could do, but there are better instruments by far for students. Why do you ask?

And while I'm not a serious clarinetist either, I believe older Selmers, along with companies like Leblanc and Buffet were/are some of the more highly respected clarinets available. You'd have to find a serious clarinetist to verify that, though.

I second this. I had a Selmer about two decades ago and it was a top-notch pro clarinet. Of course, everyone else moved forward and they really haven't(very much the same as with Gemeinhardt for flutes).
Yamaha makes a consistently good product to start on, IMO(as well as intermediate and above).
