Well I received the flutes yesterday. Over all not bad at all. They use very nice quality pads. The action is pretty good and comfortable for a student/intermediate line flute. I would have the springs lightened a bit though for my taste which is an easy fix and have silencers added. They are fairly free blowing flutes with a lighter sound.

The rings on the flute and head crown have diamond shape engraving around them which is also a nice touch along with an engraved lip plate. I do have a flute of theirs which is the 715 model that has engraved keys also which is a very nice touch. They also come in an attractive wood case and cover. Over all, I think that they have good potential and I think that people will benefit from their price and style.

Now please keep in mind I am comparing these flutes to student line of flutes, not professional like as in Powell or Haynes for example. In my opinion they would serve a student just fine. The company is working at many improvements on these flutes and they should only get better over time and I do think that they will catch on.

I can take some close up pictures to anyone that would like a closer look at one of these flutes.

I am still undecided as if I will be a Representative from thier company, but I am leaning toward yes. If I do sell them, I will be taking the least amount of profit as to keep prices way down and fair to buyers.

<Added>

As I have expressed to the company already, I do think that the flutes could stand to be set up better as I had to do some tweaking with them when I did get them. Maybe they came out of adjustment in shipping? Not sure.

<Added>

Another thing is that I do think that they are tend to be on the weaker side in the lower register. Being slightly out of adjustment can also be a contributor to that. The more I play and fiddle with them, I will keep on adding any more comments I might have. I hope this is helpful to some. These are all my opinions only so anyone can choose to take it or leave it :)

I just can't get over the fact that you were pretty impressed with the First Act flutes...
That kind of blows my mind...especially since you've always referred to them as "junk." lol :D

Funny how quickly opinions can change, huh??
After YOUR demonstration, and also hearing Kate play hers, and playing it myself, I'm impressed!!!

The same thing happened when Japanese companies started making flutes almost 50 years ago. Most were junk to start, but a few companies started figuring out how to do it properly over time.

Good video. I tired to keep my opinion on here, as nice as possible because I knew the reps from Orpheo were reading it. I can't wait to hear your opinion, although, I think I know what it is already. If these flutes were better set up, made in America or Japan (where they know how to make flutes), I think that they would have better luck in the market.

I only have one this to say to you now...
Beetle Juice! Beetle Juice! Beetle Juice! ahahahaha!!

<Added>

I did tell the company that I couldn't put my name behind their flutes and sell them until improvments were made.
