For state small solo and ensemble contest later this year, we (more than likely) want to do a trio.

Ive looked a little on fluteworld, and couldn't really find anything for flute, violin, and clarinet.. although im sure theres tons of stuff out there. All the combinations we can do are:

Violin, Flute, Clarinet
Flute, Flute, Clarinet
Piccolo, Flute, Clarinet

Anyway, any suggestions?? We are all highschool sophomores. Us two flutes are about the same level, I'm working on the Mozart Concerto in G Major right now.. Im not sure about the clarinet.. I think shes just a little bit less advanced if you can compare flute and clarinet skill levels, but not by a ton

Thanks!

If you have two flutists and a clarinetist, the flute players can play from parts from anything pitched in the key of C. That means oboe parts and those for any other C instrument are up for grabs too, and you can indeed find some trios for such instrumentations on fluteworld (as well as other sheetmusic sellers). If you happen to find a piece you like for a different instrumentation, you could even transpose the necessary parts to make it work for you. You're not limited to just the few combinations you posted above. Good luck!

It just so happens that last Tuesday I went to see a woodwind trio (flute, oboe, and clarinet). These were professional musicians, so the pieces might be beyond your level. However, here is what they played:

Divertimento by Malcolm Arnold

Trio Op. 87 by Ludwig von Beethoven (arr. by Gustave Langenus)

Terzetto by Gustav Holst

Audbade by Paul deWailly

Tarantella by Whitney Tustin

I'm not sure where you could get these from, but I'm sure an Internet search will bring up something.
