I'm confident that many members of the forum already know this --- but thought I'd bring it up as an "aside".

I often think composers (Particularly Bach) forget that flutists have to breath, once in awhile.

I found (what I thought) was an unusual answer to this: take "singing lessons" from an Opera singer.

So I did take a "few" lessons from an Opera singer at the Chicago Civic Opera. I learned, once again, how to breath from the diaphragm and it has really helped me with my breathing technique.

I find that I can get through "passages", which previously were unattainable for me.

Just thought I'd pass it along.

Regards, Jim

Kara --- please try to be nice. I'm offering an olive branch to you. ARE you that unforgiving.

Yes, I DO "hog" the forum. As you so aptly pointed out, once before: "he's lonely". True, it may be. But I AM, after all, NOW talking about only flute playing.

I respond much better to kindness and forgiving, than (the other).

I know that "I'm too much to put up with" --- but I'm trying my best. Can you "work" with me. IF I'm authoring too many posts -- just tell me that, and I'll shut up, for awhile.

Is that fair enough? What do I have to do to get back into your good graces?

Regards, Jim

I only forgive the first 20 times which I think is very gracious.

Again, Phil --- thanks for jumping in.

And: Kara, the "Queen of the Forum" was just a poor attempt at bad humor.

YOU like to "joke around" --- and I know you have a sense of humor. I'm sorry you took it the wrong way. You've admitted that you're "a crazy flutist" --- and so am I.

Actually, if you look at it in the RIGHT perspective --- you would have recognized it as a compliment. You've been on this forum far longer than I --- and you always bring a welcome and fun relief to what otherwise would have been a "tech this" -- "tech that" dull, boring, forum. I like your humor and what you bring to the forum. You ALSO know a lot about flute playing --- and that's what this forum is SUPPOSED to be about.

I'm not apologizing --- just pointing it out.

Lighten-up, will you?

Jim

Just take a deep breath, Phil. And, never mind the Philistines, when they are upon us. They have to breath, too. Even though they refuse to admit it. (As they refuse to admit anything else).

Friends, always ---- Jim

Oh, that old, tired rumor again. Some of these people need to get a new script-writer.

That's simple. We're going into business together. Our new instrument will be called the "Clariflute".
