I fully support Kate's suggestion. Let us get more favourable opinions in this same thread and then we can send it to Admin. This site has several forums with different instruments and a common place for used (or new) instruments could be great.
In alternative, we could open a thread specifically to gather support for this request.
To alieannie, the spell checker is something we have discussed (and requested) a few times in the past. I suppose it cannot implemented easily or is not a standard SW application for the present forum software and this is the reason it has not been added to the site so far.
However,it is very simple and effective to use the spell checkers embedded in some browsers. I use Firefox and it has spell checkers for English and for many another languages. It signals my misspellings in real time (as I write them) by underlining the wrong word in red.
But I remember reading in an older thread (was Bilbo?), that Explorer (IE6?) has a similar feature, so it may just be a matter of activating the spell checker in your browser or maybe downloading some free SW module from Microsoft page or other source.
IE users can tell you better how they do it.
I also suggest you give a try to Firefox, it is one of the best SW produced by the open source movement and has some advantages and features over Explorer. It co-exist perfectly with IE and you can keep it for some special and rare places that are not compatible with Firefox.
You can see that I make few spell errors (though probably many grammar errors) in my posts; good spelling is more the merit of the spell checker and grammar errors are my own...
Happy New Year!
