Hi,

I just noticed that there are a bunch of flutes on ebay being advertised as alto flutes. They do not appear to be alto flutes from the pictures. They look to me to be just a regular run of the mill C flute with a curved headjoint for kids.

Then they want to charge you $130 to ship it from China. I appears to be one of THOSE flutes. If you know what I mean.

What do you guys think? Am I wrong?

I just thought that I would bring it to your attention. You may want to warn your students.

Yes,

That's one of many. It looks to me like a regular flute with two headjoints. To me there is a huge difference between this.

And what they are advertising.

I am just looking at the keys and the headjoints.

the one you provided definitely is an alto. the other link is a student flute.

either way, id never buy one. if im going to buy an alto flute, im going to invest some money into it like, maybe at least $1000...

Well,

You know how some people are. They get all excited about flutes. They see an add for a cheap alto flute and they want one. They may have never seen an alto flute so they buy the thing. They don't care if it is crap. They just want a new toy.

My biggest problem with it is false advertising. They are not selling an Alto flute. They are pushing a standard C flute of a brand I would not personally buy.
