I've been searching my teachers videos and can't find the solution to a problem I'm having right now.

My headjoint is stuck in the body of my flute and won't come out. I wanted to take it to a party tomorrow and I can't put it in the case! I tried putting hot butter down through the mouth hole but that just got things really sticky. What should I do?

You could always stick corn down it, put it in the microwave and enjoy popcorn.

Ms. Noah she could help you. That might be a good topic for her next. (Me laughting my butt off!!)

No seriously, take it in to your local repair tech, don't try and get it off yourself.

Oops.. typo. It should be laughing.

My very serious suggestion is (Plz. Take this with a grain of salt, popcorn butter flavored of course) .....Sell that old sticky greasy flute and try taking up the skill of beatboxing accordion. Seriously, YouTube needs some beatboxing vids W/Accordion. They REALLY go well together. I'd suggest a version of the Penn. Polka with beatboxing added.

Try some basic physics before you run to the tech.

Is it really cold in the room where your flute is located?

Try taking it to a warmer room and playing the thing for 15 minutes or so to warm the metal up. Then try removing the headjoint.

If that doesn't work, I would take it to a tech.

And don't forget the caramel topping.

If none of the above suggestions work, here's something that has worked for me many times.

Get two tractors. Tie the headjoint to tractor A and the body to tractor B, then have the tractors take off in oppsite directions. Make sure this is done on concrete.

and with the tractors, use stout bungee cords to tie off the 2 sections. Whey the tractors get far enough apart, all you need to do is tap the head jont a few times with a ball-peen hammer and they will seperate quite nicely.

Put it in the deep fryer at McDonalds. That would loosen up anything!

Very funny guys. I had a problem here.

I ended up last night calling a friend who is a plumber and he brought over a pipe-cutter tool. You just bolt this thing to the flute and spin it around a few times and *pop*, the flute came right apart. I will have to use tape to put the flute back together again but at least I can take it to my party tonight.

Thanks for not being serious when I had a problem.

AlieAnnie-

The tractor thing was the same idea and much better.

Try to read the previous posts before hitting reply.

it'll either work correctly or it will become an alto flute.

The pipe cutting cut the metal as close as possible to the headjoint.

Worked great. I'm using vinyl tape that is silver to put it together now and it looks just fine.

The butter never really came out. The first pad got it the worst.
