i can record later tonight. i can either record a bit of the reinecke concerto, sonatine by dutilleux, or sonatine by sancan.

those pieces (including mozart) have been my "test" pieces lately.

its so hard because everyone is split. today, i played for 4 people. 1 said a, 1 said c, 1 said b, the other said she liked all of them.

GAH!

ok, so which piece would be most helpful?

was writing a paper so didnt have a chance to do much tonight.

i like to play on the burkart. i also like the play on the arista. both have the "sizzle" that most look for when playing a new headjoint. also very common in gold (from what ive experienced).

i dont like the miyazawa's tone. in fact, i dont really like the miyazawa at all, except people who hear it really like it.

its just a tough process. theres another burkart headjoint id like to try (used) at flute world. perhaps ill find the time within the next couple of weeks to try it out.

oh, i dont know. i just wish it wouldnt be so divided. it would be nice if the choice was much easier. of course i could break out the price card, but i dont want that to be my decided factor.

let me put in my 2 cents...the more advice you ask for, the more opinions you get, the more confused you will be, (that is not to say I don't value the opinions of everyone on here)..

at the end of the day, you need to get what feels best to you...I am always being told that I should play a different headjoint on a more modern flute, etc...but I like what I have, and the proof is in the pudding, people like my recordings and my sound in general..

im buying the burkart. i feel as if i can get more out of it. even though there is something about the arista that draws me to it, i think maybe its because im used to the type of cut it has.

im realy excited for the progress to be made with this new headjoint!
