well the flute i was thinking about for you was a solid silver muramatsu heavy wall used. ill give you the link at the end of the page.

dean yangs are ervin monroes brand and distributed through his store, little piper. this guy also runs muramatsu america. these flutes are made in taiwan i believe and finished in michigan. even though they are a taiwanese made flute, ive never known them to have problems... in fact, a few people i know own them and theyve only taken them in for routine maintenance. they seem to be a very reliable flute. I've always recommended them as a "step up" to those who cant afford something professional. i think they play better than the azumi and the lyric... i actually was shocked to find out the price tag when i first played it.

for the heavy wall muramatsu, i was talking to muramatsu america the other day about overhauling my flute (because it needs to be done). since i live not too far away, i went down to their shop. and i was trying out flutes because im a nerd. and i found 2 muramatsu ADs (their solid silver flute with adjustment screws) with a heavy wall. one was cheaper ($4500) with an inline g and the other was a bit more expensive ($5000) but had C# trill, D# roller, and offset g. both played lovely. if i had the money, i wouldve traded in my flute for the offset g one. anyway, i went on the website and found them both on their used flutes list (i thought they were new...).

inline g: AD #36942
offset g: AD #59111

Ren, while I am sure your intentions were well, Vamp is looking for more on the lines of professional flutes and looking to upgrade. Buing a Gemeinhardt 3SHB would not be an upgrade and more of a down grade from what she already has.

Well, that's not entirely true. Gemeinhardt makes *one* handmade flute that is professional level. Unfortunately, it costs what a typical professional flute does.($10K or so last I checked).

So it just doesn't compete with the other high-end makes which are better. Maybe you could find one used, but I think Gemeinhardt sells only a dozen or so a year, if that. I've never seen one for sale.
