hey!!!! Anyone and everyone on this site please tell me your opinion.....which do you think is better.. the sax or the flute? I think both are great but i think the flute is better!!!! please tell me what u think!!!!

well obviously you posted this post in a flute forum, so i think most of the votes here will be for flute, lol. But its really up to you NOT us. what do you like better, what instrument can you see you loving and enjoying to play.

Obviously we here are biased.

But neither is better. They eachhave upsides and downsides.

Saxophone, you need to keep up with the reeds.

Flute, you probably need to get your tenons adjusted every so often.

Saxophone doesn`t have much as far as classical american or european music goes.

The flute is mostly baroque/classical, although it does have a bit of business with rock and jazz and such.

Saxophones don`t get many solos in concert band.

Flutes are almost useless in marching band.

They have very different sounds.

Neither is better. They may be better for an individual person. I can tell you that although I don`t have much experience with the saxophone, I believe flute is better for me. (And then there`s trombone.) (don`t get me started.)

You have to remember that while you`re a flute-head, the saxophone is to someone else what the flute is to you.
