I am looking at the sankyo silver sonic model and i just wanted your input on this model. My trials have made all my other choices flops, this flute is the last one i will try.

I don't personally prefer them, but I am sure others do so that doesn't mean much. While I like Japanese model flutes a lot, they tend to run on the sharp side for me, so I don't prefer the scale on them.

What have you tried so far?

I have a Sankyo Artist series flute which isn't too different than the SilverSonic model. The Sankyo was my favorite of the flutes that I tried out and I love it (I tried out a Powell, Muramatsu, Miyazawa, and Yamaha). I haven't noticed mine being too sharp or the scale being weird or anything but try one out for yourself. I wasn't expecting to like the Sankyo at first but I really like my flute. Give it a try. Happy flute happy.

Sankyo is a great flute. I personally go more for powell, but i did try a sankyo when i was purchasing a flute a few years ago. In my experience it didn't give me the full sound, it gave me the top of th sound of that makes any sense lol. The thing that i really liked about it was that it played perfectly in tune for me

When I tried out the Sankyo compared to other flutes, I loved the power and the depth of sound to the lower register although was slightly disappointed with the upper register compared with say the Miyazawa.

But as I am in love with the beautiful low tones a flute makes, I hope to save up to buy a Sankyo soon.

keek there is a simple solution to that. Just change the headjoint on either flute to give you what you would like.
