Possible eBay auction listing violation?

Hi, folks. I was an ebay powerseller for five years (haven't done it in the last two). At that point in time you were not allowed to have an auction with say 4 different tee shirts and then say: "The highest bidder will have their choice of shirt at the end of the auction." I don't know if this rule has changed or not, but this person is selling headjoints in that manner. The one auction # is 200229360248 (Armstrong silver heads) and there is another with Gemeinhardt plated heads.

I'm not upset that they are breaking the rules per se, but it frustrates me when you are bidding against someone else and it's not even on the same item. At times it runs the price up unfairly.

Who the heck is going to pay $125 for a silver plated headjoint? And who is going to pay $300 for an Armstong silver headjoint?

Ok, I'm done with my rant now.

I agree with you. I don't think that that auction is fair, or should be allowed.

How about this one, this is wrong is SO many ways!!! This is the kind of crap that I HATE seeing on ebay!

I had an armstrong flute for years, had nothing but problems out of it. Anyone who buys anything from armstrong doesn't know good quality. I have a yamaha now & I love it. But I would notify ebay about the auction in question. They are also doing it with clairinet mouth pieces. I think it's wrong.

caveat emptor...a good idea when shopping anywhere on the web, especially Ebay...I still manage to get great deals on sheet music, and I got my kid a Jupiter trumpet that turned out to be terrific,,,so, learn what to avoid and what to buy..

An auction like this is in absolute violation of Ebay rules and regulations. Because they are all different, they need to be posted separately. If they were the same the seller could use a dutch auction. I just reported this seller to Ebay. This sellers feedback pretty much says it all. I sell on Ebay and do pretty well, but I sell all types of things. I've learned to sell certain things at certain times based on years of selling. I also find and resale items that are mispelled.... Best time to buy a diamond? October.
