I got it used for a steal, but it was in MINT condition and set up by an expert tech, so it was perfect! It was a doublers flute. I got it for only $1500. That is almost half of what they are going for new right now. I really lucked out! So many people have offered to buy it from me, but I am not giving up this gem. If I ever do, it will be only to get another Mura. I used to own a DS a few years ago, but I don't remember it ever being as fantastic as the one I have now. The only thing that is really missing on it for me is the C# trill key

Ok now I'm gonna cry.

Its 12:06 A.M., and i'm sitting here playing the Chaminade Concertino so many times I'm wondering if i've gone insane.

This has nothing to do with the topic, but just thought id share. EVERYONE picks this song for their solo though so thats why i'm going with the Telemann one.

Just keep your eye out on ebay and used flute ads and you may find a deal too. I just waited until something came up.

It is the most inexpensive and to me, plays just as well as the higher prices ones. They are all designed the same. They have the best key action that I have played on any flute.

NO, you did not. You said that you got your FLUTE from the flea market, you didn't mention anything about tools. Now, please explain to us how you do these repairs since you seem to be an expert.

Maybe we should send our flutes to this repair tech/flea market person. I have an old beat up flute that you can repair for me.

Playing the flute is wonderful. Breaking it and then having to fix it yourself is not. Going to school to fix the instrument that you just broke...thats just a nightmare! (no offense to technicians)

I don't find repair interesting, and would not go to school for it. But I might go to school for flute. Still havent decided if I like saxophone better or not.

OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH I just saw a brand new WMS Haynes flute for 10300 dollars! and I thought the 20000 fox 660 and model one were bad enough, lol

I second the buy a simple to fix flute. Yamaha isn't the best flute out there, but I like it because it's a solid workhorse. Add a custom headjoint to it and you're in business for a lot less money and repair costs than many of the boutique brands.

My only gripe is that they don't offer quite enough of the accessory keys for my liking. Pearl does, though, and is also a fine flute that isn't insanely pricey to have a tune-up on.
