As I play along with some music cd's, I'd love to amplify my flute so that I could some great sound, even as the
amateur flutist that I am. I've got a Fender 25 amp amplifier that I could connect the flute mic to. Has anyone ever tried
to amplify their flute?

I'd love to get some information about this.

Thanks,
grumpy31....

I have used several doing concerts on cruise ships, ironically, the best I used was a really good vocal mic, such as those used on stage by singers in shows...plus is was really light...the other good one I have is a barcus berry pick up that clips onto the headjoint, wasn't too expensive if I remember correctly

I believe that guitar mikes are basically magnetic type and not suitable for other uses such as flute amplification.

I have seen a few flute street playeers that attach a small tie type microphone near the embouchure hole.

You'll need a piezo mic with a wide range - from 30-40hz(mostly your breath sounds and the like, up to a clean 10-12Khz for overtones).

Thankfully, these are easy to find - usually they are also very tiny.

I like a *little* bit of presence and chorus with an octave added for low end boost.
