if you're interested in recording through your computer, you honestly cant go wrong with the snowball from blue. approx. $100, can be bought online or in stores (found commonly at guitar center)

I used
AKG Perception 100 (C$100) and
Tapco Mix.60 Mixer 59.99
The mixer was necessary to power the Mic. and then an old laptop for recording and storage.
And then I had to buy a few connecting cables.
The software is called, Audacity. Freeware. The above piece was recorded in a dry room and I added a bit of reverb to give a stereo effect.

I also use this one...

but found it on ebay for a nice price--sold as new but blemished. It's been great, and attaches nicely to the flute (unlike the previous mic they had me use which attached under the crown-ouch, my poor flute...) Didn't want to use theirs (church's) so bought my own.

I have a similar setup, but I have mine attached at the end of my flute. That also works pretty well and I don't get nearly as much of my breathing recorded.
