I plan to buy a flute amplifier but would like to get some recommendations. No, I won't be performing at all. Its just for my personal enjoyment. I'd therefore would like to keep the price below $300 if I can.
Wireless seems to be more common than wired these days. I've got a Fenders 25 amp that I could connect a "wired" flute amplifier to but If I bought a "wireless" unit could my Fenders pick up the wirless sound?
Here's some of the brands I've been reading about: Barcus Berry, Countryman Isomax 2, Samson Stage 5, Airline 77.
I'd appreciate any information.
thanks,

Not exactly what you ask, just a different idea. You could try to connect the flute mike into your sound chain. Normally there should be a microphone input and you save some 300$.
I have a pioneer 2x40 Watts midi, it has mike input and costed much less than 300$ (without ancillary units as tuner, CD, tape, turntable)
Not sure whether this a valid idea if you want to travel or move with you amplifid flute, however.
