Hello all. I am in need of suggestions for a flute or oboe solo (and I do mean a piece which sounds fine with no accompaniment) for a Christmas concert in a few weeks. Help please! Thanks

you could go with flight of the bumble bee (if you can play it) or you could do some kind of study, i don;t know much about them but air on a g string is nice so is moonlight sonate, (u wen i have ried them i have had an accompliment. other then that i don't know. disney songs are always pretty.

Do you mean a christmas song? or do you just want a peice to play for the concert?

Almost any flute duet piece will do. The oboe can play the lower part. There might be balance issues, though.

Okay, this is my fifth year playing on flute, and this is my second year on oboe, but I can play fourth year pieces on the oboe. I take lessons on the oboe, and I do get some help from my music teacher for the flute. Pieces I am working on/have played....

1. Prelude to Unaccompanied Cello Suite No.1 (oboe)
2. Polonaise (flute)
3. Sonata for Oboe and Piano op. 166 (oboe)
4. Badinerie (flute)
5. All-State stuff (flute & oboe)

I need some advice for something that is mildly difficult but not too flashy.
