It would help if they at least knew if it was composite (plastic) or grenadilla..

http://fluteworld.com/index.php?action=pk&wart=emes&ppk=picc on fluteworld you can find a list of all the Emerson Piccolos and can narrow it down a little bit..

I'd guess its just composite with a metal headjoint.

You could ask the seller what material the body is made of.

Looking at www.emersonflutes.com might help although that only shows current models.

Unless you have $200 plus dollars to spend on top of the price you win it for, I would not recommend buying a used instruments off of ebay. Make sure the seller has a return policy also if you want to go this route.I get most of my flutes off of ebay for resale and I can attest to 99% of them have always needed some kind of work done on them and about 75% are not as described. I am not just a casual buyer either, I buy all the time off of there. I recommend that if you are looking to buying a used piccolo, buy from a trustworthy private seller. Otherwise, after the repair bills, you may very well end up spending almost if not as much cost at is would have been for a new Emerson piccolo.
