You should practice everything in the book at a tempo that allows you to play the notes cleanly with a good tone and tuning. If there is a difficult section for you, work it out carefully until you feel that you've gained something from doing it. You can vary the articulation to get experience in this aspect of the music.
Nothing is gained if you try to go too fast and you can't handle the notes, if you aren't paying attention to the details or if you aren't playing musically as you should in a performance.
Since what I wrote can be said for any exercise or etude -if you like. Is there a specific exercise that is in question?

there is an easy way to use this book, if you notice, the volume is broken down into scales, arpeggios, technique exercises and other interval studies..
simply practice one from each category each day, use lots of different articulations and take your time..
