I want to play the piccolo, because I want to double, and my flute teacher suggested the piccolo. Additionally, I have played the piccolo before, however I dont have a piccolo. My budget is £300, and I preferably want an ABS resin headjoint, I don't care about the body (I'm allergic to nickel silver so I don't want to take a risk) can anyone suggest any brands?

A Yamaha 32 (with silverplated headjoint), or a Gemeinhardt 4P, ought to get you started.
If their new price is a bit beyond your budget, (I can't really convert to dollars), you might try to find a reputable flute/piccolo repair tech who can rebuild one of these for you.

Good siggestions there.
You might find a used one in good condition for less. Probably best to avoid the older Yamaha 31 model as there seems to be intonation problems with them.

I've tried the Yamaha 32 picc. It sounded alright. I don't have anything to compare it too though. Most of the professional flautists on this forum will advise against Yamaha piccolos, so you may want to stay away from them.
