A hellish being.. (JJK)

This short definition is clear, IMO:
"The practice of deliberately placing inflammatory material on the Internet in order to provoke vehement responses", or a person who does this"

This low life troll did it again, s/he just voted -28 to Kanea's question on <<4th Octave>>

http://www.8notes.com/f/25_248655.asp

I have reported it again to David being as a subscriber to check his/her accounts and cookies.

WOW, this low life (not no life) really has gone thru the troubles to login 28 times to vote and close an innocent thread, what a loser.....LOL, love to him/her in mental condition!!! LOL

You guys should really come enjoy his or her work, wow, very impressive, all that trouble and persistence and hate and mental imbalance, to close down every post, wow, 28 logins, isn't it somethng, what a master work I have never seen in any forum. lol.....

why this guy is so afraid of me showing my demonstration of the 4th Octave with Yamaha 211? hmmm.... is it becoz his or her students keep asking him/her to demonstrate the 4th octave? Or becoz I have shown them that a basic cheap model 211 made of white-copper can also just do the work upto F#7? doh, I have ruin their business!

Please everybody file complaints to David, so he will really take care of this once for all, just me file complaints after complaints he will not do anything. This forum will be destroyed very soon!! Now they are closing a valid discussion, sooner and later, they will close all thread!!!!!!!!!!!

My teacher told me something in class: a Christian German's word "When Nazi took the Jews, I said nothing, I am not Jews; when Nazi took the communist, I said nothing, I am not communist, when Nazi took.....I said nothing, now they come for me....no one is helping me"

This may be a technical detail, but to sabotage a site by voting negative more than once is not strictly trollish in the general sense that it does harm people and sites but is not promoting (directly) fights or site inflaming. Just a silent, sad site death, if let alone.

I believe that Admin should block the voting feature for a while, until the offender leaves the place.

I would like to add that to see again a thumbed down post is as simple as clicking on the "+" at the left of it

Oh right, when others said troll it's troll, when I say troll it's not troll, what kind of standard is that? They not only marked down the post, they marked down the first post of a thread - that makes the whole thread disappeared, and you can't simply click (+) to see the thread!! Tell me how you gonna see this thread by clicking (+)?
http://www.8notes.com/f/25_248655.asp

This troll voted -28! 28 times man! what kind of sick person is that???

<Added>

You are right, please ask the moderator to disable the vote system for now on flute forum to bore the trolls. They have at least 28 different accounts!

It's very sad. I was enjoying some of the threads. It's too bad that there are people out there who are hateful and have no life.

it seems as though the posts that were all closed were troublesome posts. a lot of bickering going on. it is no surprise that someone must have got fed up with the no moderation of the forum and took matters into his/her own hands. just a thought. i'm glad they were closed. i don't want to read it anymore either.

Sorry you took my comment so badly. It was not my intention to apply any standard at all to anybody. I supposed this distinction could be interesting, but I could not suppose you would react to it. I will be more careful next time.

Why not call this crazy guy/girl a blackholer instead of troll? This name has the advantage
of sounding quite close to another word that I believe would describe him/her much better but would be too rough to use here.

You are right in the case of a thumbed down initial post. I think it is a bug in the voting feature, as the complete thread should no disappear so easily.

I suggest we continue to report this problem to Admin, he might be able to correct this or in the worst case, he could disable the voting system.

I also lost my thread on the oldest instrument in humankind. I was not following it any more, but still, I feel this like a little loss. But that's life, virtual or real.

Pyrioni - I'm not sure what problem you are having, but I can see the entire thread just fine (if I click the + signs)...

Everyone - This whole debate about negative votes is just a bunch of nonsense. OK, so after a message gets sufficient negative votes, the forum collapses the message - it's not a big deal. Anyone can just click the + sign if they want to read the collapsed message. It seems to me that the real issue is more about bruised egos that feel they are not popular when they get negative votes. C'mon folks - drop it, move on, and get a life.

Micron,

Clicking on the ASP link provided brings me to the thread, though I need to click on the (+) sign to be able to see some posts, particularly the one originating the whole thread.

The problem with the present voting system is a (probable) bug that deletes the thread from the general list, when the first post is thumbed down by enough negative votes. But the thread remains in the (notes server, only that we do not see it any more, unless we know its ASP address.

This should not be so, as an invisible thread in the list is very close to a non-existing one.

Some people with high ordered spirits (and plenty of HD space) seem to keep their own records of the ASP links. This is simple, it only requires not deleting the automatic Forum notifications.

But I delete them because I have to deal with too many messages and my Email client is always overloaded with thousands of stored messages.

BTW,

I have also arrived to the same conclusion as Binx; this person (or people) is/are acting as self-designated "Masked Avenger(s)" who has/ve decided to delete any thread that according to their own criteria do not merit remaining visible.

This is too close to fascist thinking and I do not approve it.

I dislike verbal violence or rough vocabulary in threads as everybody else, but I do not support this extreme censorship.

I also doubt that there is a single person involved; it looks more like a sort of band of friends that have agreed to enforce Netiquette rules by brute force and according to their own criteria. I mean, they decided to moderate the Forum without being requested to do so.

I prefer a non-moderated Forum (or a mildly-moderated as this one) to one strongly / moderated (read: censored). But this is a personal preference and I am not saying that everybody else should agree with it.

The emergence of this -close to- fascist outbreak here is a very bad thing, but quite common everywhere and is not the worst thing I have seen in this world.

Wow, s/he can't close an entire thread anymore, looks like David is doing something now, thanks to you guys help reporting altogether to admin and owner of this site! May be David is investigating that troll's accounts. If more complaints made then David will do more things. S/he must be in even severe mentally mad condition now and scolding people around him or her in real life, hate always makes people mad and suffer.

If there are 29 individuals to close a same thread at the same time, wow, I never knew 8notes is so popular.

Hey Micron!

Sir James Galway just now wrote on Galway Flute Chart that he thought I did well on highest notes:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z581rN1zhks
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqvYywXQ4tY

If you don't believe me, you can check it on GFC today....

"Dear Johann,

I think you are doing very well with these top notes. Very well indeed. I would like to know why your teacher thinks you should practice these notes? I never practiced anything above top C (c 4)
but wonder what the point of this is.

Best wishes,
Sir James,
At home,
Meggen.
Switzerland.
July 8, 2009"

You are my teacher's teacher, how should I reply him? Micron?????

my English is bad, help me, it will be viewed by thousands of people in the world on GFC. you know my point of practising these highest notes, right?

<Added>

I find that after practiced these high notes I can now play 3rd octaves very easily, more focused and with more strength, more strengthened embouchure.....

BTW, I played piccolo for the first time in my life yesterday, and I could immediately hit C8 and C#8 easily, can I also mention this to him?

Micron, sometimes quoted links do not work and the browser displays "page not found" or a similar message.

Concerning this, "Jose, I very much doubt that anything you have posted in this forum would be sensored in saxontheweb, which has effective moderation, and no stupid voting-down system.":

My opinion was addressing the censorship dilemma in general. I always try not to say things that could arise disapproval or cause people to feel uneasy, far before being censored so I do not fear the moderators.

On one hand, the problem with active moderation is that it can reduce the freshness of the posts as people, even if never touched by moderators, refrains in their opinions for fear of becoming their target. Not only their writing style, but their concepts and opinions.

On the other hand, the problem with very mild or on-demand moderation as we have here, is that we must co-exist with all kinds of styles and personalities, from the very polite to the quite aggressive.

I must confess that I like -to a certain extent- such a diverse environment. It is a challenging virtual society and in a way, a sample of what we have and deal with in real adult life.

So it is a sort of training to live better and more adapted in the real world and also an exercise in improving one's ability to socialize, even in (sometimes) slightly -or openly- hostile situationd.

And in my particular case it has been useful in making my English advance. Word or sentences double sense for instance, and the possible completely different interpretation of others of what I have in mind so clearly for myself are things I did not learn at school, why studying English nor anywhere else but here (I'm talking of the English language for a non native speaker like me).

I also appreciate the openness of subjects treated, but some moderators could find that a thread is drifting too far from the original subject or simply, the original subject does not fit the designed area of interest of the site (i.e flutes). A close example is this same thread, nothing to do with flutes but still interesting.

I do not say I will never post in saxontheweb. In fact, I have a new account there and even made my first post. Will see what happens. Things seem to be improving here.

I had decided not to follow my thread of the oldest instrument in humankind. Immediately after my last post, which I acknowledge was grazing the limit of being rough, it disappeared by action of the blackholer(s).

But now it is back (probably Admin is working on the voting system problem) and I could not resist having a look. The battle of giants there has advanced to a point I cannot less than admire, no matter the style of most of the recent posts is not exactly what I consider to be polite.

But I still prefer to have those scholars discussing at heaven's level that have then moderated, not to say censored.

It is just my personal approach and opinion. I wanted to share them without any intention of having others adhere to this domestic philosophy.
