Flora: The "marche funebre d'une marionette" is definitely an excellent idea! I'll start working on it as soon as possible.
As regards the Marvin Hamlisch piece, I'm sorry but it's protected by copyright.

Micron: You mean the 2nd mvmt. "Andante non troppo moderato", right? I'll need to provide some kind of accompaniment for this one. The strings have many pizzicato passages, and I'm looking forward to hear how an arrangement for flute and piano would sound.

At the moment the request queue contains six titles, so you'll have to wait a few days for these two suggestions to become reality.

If you have any other idea or suggestion about the site, please don't hesitate!

Wonderful Website!! It's been so much help!

I haven't been able to figure out anything for my audition coming up soon and it was soo simple and easy to find it! I really like how you have the key, range, BPM everything right there with a song, and its easy to hear and preview it!

WONDERFUL JOB! :D

Don't worry. Regarding "The way we were", I have the version for piano, and it can be played for flute.
I suppose that the modern scores are all protected.
I have the score for guitar of: "My way", and "Romeo and Juliette" (by Nino Rota). I can also play both wiht flute.

Thanks a lot for your answer.
Gracias.

The "Marche funebre d'une marionette" and the Andante from Concerto in G by Stamitz have been added!
Right now you can find both on the homepage.
Thanks again to Flora and Micron for these two suggestions, they're really enjoyable!

I've just heard and read the "marche funebre...". Fantastic adaptation for flute (I got it for oboe).
As soon as I get back home (now at work) I'll play it.
I'll try Micron's suggestion too, though it wil take me time to play it properly.

Quantz: any score of Opera? Madame Butterfly? La Bohème? Aida?...

Gracias de nuevo. Eres un tío/a muy enrollado/a.

Hi again!

theflutist94, I've just posted the Stars and Stripes Forever march. The piccolo solo is on top of page 2.

A big thank you to everybody for your encouragement!
I'm glad to read that you are spreading the word: that is in my opinion the best way to help the site's growth.
If you want to help the project, a very simple thing you can do is telling about it to your friends.
Or, better yet, write some lines on your blog or website!

I'm waiting for more suggestions and/or requests!

Hey, Am worried that there is some sort of Copyright Law being broken here- but there are some good works on here.. I have been looking for Luciano Berio's Sequenza for flute solo. I would love it if there were more classical works like the Stamitz Concerto, Devienne, etc. and not so much of "She'll be comin' around the mountain," and "Take me out to the ballgame..." Just my preference. =)

Hi. Of course we have already examined the question of copyright, and naturally there shouldn't be any problem as long as we post pieces that are in the public domain. Unfortunately, there is widespread confusion about current copyright laws, even now that reliable enough sources like Wikipedia provide very detailed documentation.
For example, we can easily tell that anything by Luciano Berio is absolutely off-limits, since he was born after 1922.

As regards the classical/folk question, we aim to provide resources for all kind of flutists, beginners and experts, and we think it's a good thing to cover different genres. As you said, it's just a matter of preference... for example, I love classical music, but I do also like traditional tunes, and I believe it's very nice to have a place where you can discover that "that famous song" is actually called "The Streets of Cairo".

good point and i have been able to use "the blue danube" which will never go out of style. and the stars and stripes forever piccolo solo is always good for anyone to practice (never know when you're gonna have to pull that one of your pocket and play it!)

I see now why there are so many folk songs, and a few baroque/classical and no modern flute rep.

And it is kinda weird about the confusion w/ copyright laws. I was talkin' to someone about this the other day, and it's like the whole world of music is going through an entire revolution in its production of music/ of course the issue of artist compensation has come up for several, several, years now.

The world is a changin', that's for sure!

Flora, sorry for the delay!
Since you asked something from operas, I hope you'll like Verdi's "Va', pensiero" which I've posted today.
I think one of these days I'll also prepare something from "Aida" and/or "La Traviata".

Hola, Quantz,

Don't say sorry. I must say THANK YOU for your wonderful website.
My teacher wondered if I could ask you for the whole sinfonia posted on August 17th. I love it!
Good article about Harmonics.
Whenever you have time, any duet flue-violin?

Gracias
