i'd love to give it a go, but i don't have the money to get one , i am trying to get my hands on a piccolo at the moment though.

Not well,.... but since thee are enough good concert C flutists and flautists about the world I've decided to take up the Bass Piccolo. The correct term for this instrument is "Flauto Piccolo Basso in C".

For those who are uninformed as to this instrument, it plays exactly one octave below the standard Piccolo.

I dont have one but I use one from my youth symphony. I prefer it to alto flute.

it is always good to own bass or alto if you can, when jobs come up that need them, any contractor who knows you own bass or alto, and can play well, will give you the edge...I am fortunate in that Jupiter sends them for me to try out and show people

I guess it's kind of like the "piccolo basso flauto in C as well" =]!

As in 1 octave ABOVE the bass flute.

yes, it's just a matter of perspective.

The practicing of scales, tone exercises, studies and solos seems to resolve any confuddlements.
