Do you mean it is you playing?. Do you mean you were hired to play the flute part in this film?
or..?

IMO:
This video/film has been recorded in a studio with a professional player. The orchestra could be real or synthesized, but in both cases it should be well beyond the typical resources of amateurs, even in China, I am afraid.

Or have you posted it as an example of a beautiful performance with the Chinese flute?

Hi buddy, your appraise is the highest I'v ever heard.
Yes, in this music, I'm the player of the flute but not professional as I learned Chinese Flute myself and the record and after works are all done in my apartment except the accompaniment was downloaded from internet.
I played flute when listening the accompaniment over earphone and recorded to the computer then edit the flute sound(like denoising and add some reverberation) then synthesized with accompaniment. The movie parts you saw were cutted from the whole <Castle In The Sky> movie myself by several softwares and finally synthesized with the music.
I would like to share it not only in China so here I am...

Well, I congratule you. This a very good job and I find the quality of your performance truly remarkable. It really sounds as made in a professional studio by a high level payer, professional or not.

It must have taken you many hours of hard work. And you have learnt the flute all alone, without teachers?

What is your bamboo chinese flute? what is the lowest (western) note you can play on it?

<Added>

I forgot to mention that I find that the synchronization of the music with the images was excellently done.

Hello Jose, thank you very much for your reply.
It really taken me several whole nights' time deal with the recorded flute sound / synchronization / videos and most of all I pratice flute almost everyday.
Hard to spell out Chinese Bamboo Flute if you haven't seen it, it's a traditional instrument that Chinese name is "Xiao". Below Linkage FYI. you can have an idea with pictures:

Most of them are made in Bamboo by hand so every flute sound different(special) according to different bamboo and craftwork but nowadays someone began to made it by steal.
Yes, I learned "Xiao" by myself by reading books / watching teaching videos via internet and listening CD etc.
Thank you again for your high appraisal and I believe you will fell in love if ever touch this amazing insrument

I will look for more information on this instrument. According to the pictures, it seems to be blown from one open end, similar to the peruvian indian Kena (Quena) is it so?

Yes, it is an end-blown flute.
In terms of Kena (Quena), the outline is similar but mordern "Xiao" is much longer (roughly from 70cm to 100cm according to different Flat) and with 6~8 sound holes. See this:

Awesome, your choice of tempo makes your Xiao playing so sweet, I love it.

I don't like the original tempo, too fast, this is my flute version I made back in July:

Yes, we have the same feeling, slow the tempo sounds a little loney & sadness when flying in the sky...
The original tempo in the movie is much faster that in order to set off the comedic end.
It's a pity that I can not reach your linkage, would you please send to my E-mail if not that troublesome: tonytonywu@gmail.com
