Hi, I was looking into gold-plating my flute.
I want it as a purely cosmetic change, and I understand that it probably wouldn't do much to my sound.
I have a pearl 765-RBE CODA Quantz model, if that helps,
and I want to get it plated in rose gold fully.

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get this done,
somewhere that does a good job, obviously,
and an area of which it would cost.

Any help is greatly appreciated,
Musically yours,

It will do a lot to your tone, articulation, and air flow.

Do you still want to do it?

Gold plating will have to be redone over time. Sometimes gold plating can react to your skin. My skin eats gold. My mother used to buy me gold plated jewelry and I would wear the gold off anywhere between a week and a month.

You might actually devalue your flute if you have this done. I know that I will not buy a gold plated flute because of my known reaction to gold.

If you are dead set on it, you can ask these people.

I have never had any work by them, but I have been told they are good.

thanks for the help, and since I'm buying a new headjoint and don't want to mess with the way it will play I'll probably not gold plated my flute, unless I get a gold headjoint, then I'll make my body match my headjoint.

but thanks for the help and the link :D

In another post you said you were a music student, and as a fellow music student, I can assure you that your money would be much better spent on other things than gold plating your flute.

Sheet music, accompanists, textbooks, and recordings of famous flutists all cut into my new piccolo/traverso funds.
