Unfortunately, it would be very hard for me to find a professional showing what a Yamaha student flute can really do as I don't know of any pros on youtube who play one. You are mostly only going to find younger people in age that are not as well developed tone wise like the youtube user you are linking us to. In time that will come. Sorry that I can not take you up on your challenge, but I do not have the time to be wasting looking around on youtube if I would like to spend any time on here reading and writing in the threads. I am afraid that life does not offer me as much free time as I would like. Other wise I would be practicing my flute more.

Agreed. Maybe it would even help the shaping of the notes and the lack of vibrato too.

I'm sure this has been said already, but a lot of the brand names here are good. However, each person is different so make sure you try out the specific models to see what works for you.

So you are saying that Kate's flute playing sucks and she has no right to judge, yet YOU can judge? We have never heard you play. I will say it again, Micron, you are not fooling anyone. I did not see anything that indicated throughout any of the recent posts that Kate has a vendetta against your little buddy. Kate must not be too bad at flute if she make money playing it. I have heard her play at the last convention and her simple recording on youtube does not do her justice. So, before you start going off on her playing, let's here YOU play! Okay, I want to put a few things straight. I am lucky to pick up my flute once a week. I play for pure enjoyment for myself only, no one else. I am very happy with this. I am not out to impress anyone or compete with anyone. I honestly could care less if a five year old played better than me. My life does not revolve around flute. For this reason, you do not see me posting myself playing on youtube. I did that once only as to show a few of my friends the flute that I was play testing. No other reason. I do think that Pyrioni along with many others DO play better than me. There is always going to be someone better than you, that is life. If I had time or actually cared, I would work on it and like anyone else, be better with more practice. It is ridiculous to think that by cutting down one recording of me is going to make me feel bad somehow. I know I am not perfect but have a good ear from years of experience. I could go on about a list of things that I need to work on or do wrong when playing the flute. But you see, other things are more important to me in life. I don't or never wanted to be some top notch professional flutist. I do wish that we all weren't so sensitive and could stop seeing opinions as some sort of an attack. I have nothing against Pyrioni and do wish him the best of luck. I am however getting a bit tired of being blamed for what others are doing, like I am some how connected. I do not control these people, they are not my puppets as was mentioned in another thread. I am a strong opinionated person, that does not make me have a vendetta against someone. So please, stop trying to put things on me. I left the forum a couple of times already and I would be sad to have to feel the need to do so again. Things are getting back to me, people are writing to me about what one particular person is choosing to say about me in private emails. It does make me sad to think that one person can have so much effect on another person to make them believe such hateful things against me when they don't even truly know me themselves. That is life, that is the internet I suppose.
