Just out of curiosity...does anyone have a crooked embouchure? Well we all know that some are taught to avoid crooked embouchures, well at least the ones that go waaaaayy off center. But what about Rampal? He has a crooked embouchure!

How do yours look like? Mine is usually center, but not dead center, a little to the left. When I have a "Bad" sound day, my embouchure goes to the left...then when I get annoyed, it just goes more to the left until I relax a little bit.

mine is very crooked, as are many flutists, the audience never asks to see your lips, they just want to hear how you sound

I've never thought much about it... I guess mine is pretty center. Maybe just a little off.

Mine is off-centre, i've got a big dip in my top lip, so i play to the right, but its how i learned to play, so i know no difference really.

The flutist Dennis Bouriakov, plays really off center, it looks really strange but his sound is brilliant..

So i guess it does not matter too much.

I don't think it really matters. As long as you get a good sound, who cares how you get it?! :D Haha.
I play a little crooked at times. As does my flute teacher a little. I actually watched a youtube video by Nina Perlove? And she was saying to playing with your embouchure aimed to either the left or the right. If you aimed you focused your air to the left, it would "bounce off the cork and give you a better sound or if you focused your air to the right, it would give you more sound than focusing your air... straight down."
Which kinda makes sense.. but idk. I don't think it matters :P
