hey Spacermase and Jake where are yall from... I am from Texas and my band also plays across the field....doesn`t that song get really annoying when you have to play like 25 times in one quarter.... anyways i just thought I would tell all of yall that.

WE don`t like the texas Aggies we love the Longhorns and our fight song it The Aggie War Hymn

we used to have every schools song we played and ours memorized. But now we don`t play the other school`s song anymore. just our`s which is a lot easier.

I don`t know my HS band`s fight song but only ever experienced 2x our rival next town over playing our fight song after we would play. Maybe I`m old and too sensitive but I think that`s very rude playing the other teams fight song even if just for fun. Play your own. Well a lot are taken from other schools but I mean purposely playing the oppenents fight song to antagonize them or gloat. you can see I`m not too into sports. I mean we all gloat with music in marching band but I find that a little over the top playing another teams fight song.

Lera, if you notice, Marsha posted more than two years ago. I don't expect that she's going to see your reply, and even is she did, it most likely would not help her now. And there's nothing wrong, IMHO, with playing another school's fight song as long as you play it in genuine support of them, and not as a mockery. There are some hardcore college football fans out there, and they might be interested in their favorite team's fight song, even if they don't attend the school itself. Anyway, "Oye Como Va" is how you spell the name of that piece, but ss3dbz, if you're looking for a sax part, perhaps posting in a sax forum would get you better results?

Well that's always the case. There are always going to be some people that are satisfied by something and others that hate the idea. And the fans I know love to hear their team's (USC and UCLA) fight songs, regardless of who's playing them. They certainly don't regard it as a mockery, and at least one of them has acquired parts to USC's fight song (he's still in HS).
