I currently have a Brio B2 flute (yes I know it's made in china so don't give that crap kay?) it play well but the head joint is factory made so I want to get a high quality head joint something less than 2 grand, and I'm also wondering which headjoints will fit my Brio?

So far, I've been looking into the Powell 9k Aurumite or Silver, or the Dana Sheridan Solid Silver head joint...

With that budget you may want to look into buying a low model handmade flute.

sorry, but I really like my flute and I believe with a higher quality headjoint, I will sound even better, but I respect your opinion, but I also respect mine.

Then give a Nagahara .950 HJ a try. It was slightly under 2K$. Contact them directly if you are in USA. I believe they can send three different HJs on trial, to USA residents. I am very satisfied with the one I bought recently.

I do not want to argue with your perception of your flute. But let me say that I have tested my Nagahara DA cut HJ (which works very well with my Yamaha 674) on a Gemeinhardt M3 body and the result was quite poor. My conclusion is that it is not only the HJ quality that counts. But it could well be that the Brio body fits you very well.

Anyway, if you buy a very good HJ now, you can add a better body/foot later,in case you eventually wish to. You could try your new HJ with other flutes from friends and colleagues, even a at music shops, to help you decide.

Wait...maybe I am going crazy...but doesn't the Brio already have a Sheridan headjoint? I thought that was the big selling point of them. Huh...
I currently have a Powell Aurumite head (on my Powell flute), my old Sankyo head (RS2 or something like that) and an Emanuel head. I love them all for different reasons. My Powell head is the Philharmonic and can be a beast to play (but I love it for modern music). The Emanuel is really sweet and pure. Easy to play in the high range. Not to mention, he was AWESOME to do business with. My Sankyo is a powerhouse too...especially for a silver head.
I have tried...Altus, Miyazawa, Muramatsu (sp), Haynes...but these above were MY favorites. Not to say you would like the same! Everyone is different. But, headjoints can be a fun way to change your tone a little (and cheaper then buying a new flute).

Zevang...do you notice a difference with the Biggio stopper? I have wondered about them. Can you describe the difference?

to piccolo1991: The headjoint for my flute is not made by dana sheridan only designed, so it's factory made.

Oh....that is sneaky! I tried all 3 Powell heads. Originally I liked the Venti best in Silver, but then I ended up liking the Philharmonic in Aurumite. However, I have heard a lot of people don't like the Philharmonic (I think it is great for modern music). But the Venti was much more user friendly from what I remember.

I'll try to :-)
Well, this can be very subtle, but to me it's like if I have a returning effect of my sound. Thinking of what would it be like, I see it as if there was a wall right in front of me giving me a feedback of what my flute sounds like. In theory, some say that there is more resonance comming out of the headjoint. The explanation is quite simple and understandable. As the biggio stopper doesn't have a screw between the stopper and the crown, so there is a new air chamber at your left (when playing) which augments the volume of your sound. The sensation is exactly that. I feel my sound richer. My conclusions were made after many tests with the same headjoint, using alternately the biggio's stopper and the traditional system.
It's clear to me that it may change from person to person, and mostly from a headjoint to another. But in my case I can say it really works.
