Does anyone know where I can purchase the original part written for d-flat piccolo to "The Stars and Stripes Forever"? Scores for concert band that I've seen don't usually include the d-flat piccolo part in the conductor's score. I'd like the individual piccolo part, and none of the online vendors that I've checked seem to have it. Maybe I'll phone Flute World or Carolyn Nussbaum to see what suggestions they have.

I guess I might have to photocopy an old part if I can find one in a music library. I could also do the transposition myself and just write out the notation! But I'd still like the original printed part for purchase.

Anyone have ideas?

Try contacting Nan Raphael, she's a leader in military band piccolo literature:

She wrote an excerpt book for band picc literature, and I would bet that she would be able to locate one for you.

Otherwise, take a C piccolo part, and transcribe it. It can be made easy with most music software these days, I'm pretty sure there are free-ware programs that will transcribe. If you're interested, a PM to computer-savvy 8-Notes forum member Jose-Luis should start you on your way.
