I want to try out some more headjoints for my flute. I'm especially interested in gold headjoints. The thing is, none of my local music stores carry a variety of flute headjoints. Just the basic student flutes. Do any of you all know of any flute fairs or stores in the south east that will have a variety of headjoints to try?

Places like Carolyn Nussbaum, J.L. Smith, and Fluteworld will all send headjoints out for trial.

That is how I bought my 14K Williams HJ from Carolyn Nussbaum(I also tried Sheridan and Goosman). Headjoints are very personal. I had a friend that tried out 12 different Williams HJs and hated all of them. He ended up buying a 14K Brannen HJ.

I have a number of friends that like Lafin, but they are pricey, about $7225 for a 14K one:

In the southeast, try J.L. Smith in Charlotte NC.

That's where I bought my gold headjoint. Also, they usually come to the Hampton Roads Flute Faire in Norfolk VA. The next Flute Faire is April 16, 2011.

Flutegeo, because of all your obnoxious advertisements in this forum, I would not consider buying any of your products.
