Anyone have any experience with this headjoint? I currently have their EC headjoint which I really like. Just wondering if the K cut would be a substantial difference in terms of volume and tone color. Thanks for sharing any of your experiences.

It's the HJ Yamaha made specifically for Jeffrey Khaner, principal flautist of the Philadelphia orchestra.

Thanks. I did know that. I was just wondering if anyone had ever test played one. Or if anyone here actually owned one or had experience with one.

Over the summer, I went up to New York twice to have a lesson with Carol Wincenc, and Jeffrey Khaner. We got on the topic of headjoints and I asked him what he played on and it was the K model. And then he asked me what I played on, and I have a Burkart 10K headjoint. But he let me play it and it was one of the most amazing headjoints that I have ever played, I got a huge HUGE sound, but still being able to get a very delicate sound as well. If I didnt just buy a head joint, I might have gotten one. It truly was amazing.

Thanks Spencer! I was hoping that someone out there had actually played one. I've asked this question elsewhere and was never able to get an answer. Have you ever played an EC headjoint? Just wondering if the K headjoint would be that much of a step up? After reading your firsthand impressions, I think I might try and get my hands on one.

I was never a real big yamaha fan to begin with, so I was skeptical, but I really enjoyed playing that flute.
