I haven't tried a Pearl 665 yet so I can't give you an opinion on that flute.
I've tried a friend's Azumi 2000 though and it's an excellent flute! I liked the headjoint a lot; it really does make a difference. I've heard that the Pearl "Quantz" flutes aren't worth it, and that if you want to upgrade with a Pearl flute, you should get a "Dolce" series model or better. Probably the same concept as getting a Yamaha flute to upgrade; you wouldn't want to get a 300-400 series flute because those lines will play the same as a 200 series model, so a 500 series Yamaha (or better) would be the smart choice.
Overall I want to say that the Azumi will be the better flute overall, but do try out both if you can! If you have a bit more money to spend, you could get the Pearl 665 body, and find a nicer headjoint to put on it. That'd be ideal!

By the way, were there any other flutes you had in mind? There two are undoubtedly great flutes but it's nice to look into more options.

French pointed arms really don't make a world of difference when compared to Y-armed keys. Definitely looks nicer though, in my opinion, but aesthetics are lower on the list when picking a flute.
I'm not sure about Briccialdi flutes. They're everywhere on eBay, and they all seem too good to be true...stick to tried and true brands like Azumi, Pearl, Yamaha, etc.
