i have a Selmer Omega flute from about 1970, closed hole, b-foot that i recently pulled out of the case for the first time in about 25 years. cosmetically it looks good and the action really didn't feel that bad, but as soon as i tried to play a note, it was evident that this instrument is in desperate need of a complete pad replacement and adjustment.
i found a place locally (San Diego) that looks ok, but wondering if anyone here could 1) give me a ballpark figure on what i might be looking at $-wise and 2) any tips to catch red flags if i don't get a good feeling for the place.
of course if anyone is close to my area, i'd also be open to suggestions of reliable repair shops.
thanks...gary
