Hello!

I have 6 weeks of non-stop revision coming up (I'm a medical student) so I desperately need a really good (and reasonably long) flute piece to work on to keep me sane. I'm looking for something like the fantasie and variations on the 'Carnival of Venice' or the Borne Carmen fantasy - really fast, fantastic pieces with great tunes to take your mind off work. I had thought of getting the fantasie on La Traviata but I can't find a UK seller. Any other suggestions?

The 5th variation of Schubert's Introduction and Variations Op. 25. It is all 32nd and 64th notes.

You could try transcribing this for flute - guaranteed fun. All the characters are ready to bop out of their white straitjackets.

Or you could try something completely different:

and relax and watch the whole series

Maybe consider the 24 Flute Concert Studies from Southern Music co.
if they are still available.

If you're looking for a piece to work with after you're done with the Boehm, the Doppler Fantasie Pastorale Hongroise (op. 26) is gorgeous.

Have fun!
