Could anybody point me in the right direction to get an idea of what the value of my flute is?
The model is 81 mfg`d in 1977. I can not find it since most blue books only go back to 1979

Assuming it`s in good adjustment and your keys silver plating is still intact:

A solid silver open-hole B-foot Armstrong can fetch around $500.
A solid silver open-hole C-foot Armstrong can fetch around $350.
A silver plate open-hole B-foot Armstrong can fetch around $350.
A silver plate open-hole C-foot Armstrong can fetch around $250.
A silver plate closed hole Armstrong can fetch around $150.

Don`t advertise the age of the flute. If someone asks say "I don`t know". So long as the flute is in good adjustment it`s playability should speak for itself.

If the flute has issues you should cut the price appropiately.

Check out http://www.usedflutes.com for price references.

I have played an Armstrong silver flute for 49 yrs. and I love it. It is a wonderful flute. I highly recommend Armstrong. The flute is the most beautiful and fascinating instrument.
