If anyone fancies learning some Irish tunes and techniques please come along to Bath Folk Festival's traditional Irish Summer School in August. It's a brilliant week with lots of great gigs, sessions and dancing too. It is run by Marick Baxter, who is a talented flautist and whistle player, well known for his work with bands like Inu and Nasrudin. Have a look on the website: www.bathfolkfestival.org for more details about the festival and summer school. Open to all ages and abilities. Hope to see you there.

Thanks Suzie. Will have a look. Hoping a few "classical" players might be tempted too as I'm really a classical violinist but am enjoying the freedom of folk at the moment. We 're getting a youth band together in Bath and it's great to see young people coming along and having a go at something a bit different. Folk is brilliant for training the ear too so it really complements their classical playing skills.
