Hey Guys, I`m a 14 year old girl who wants to be a great flute player, but my sound is terrible. One day it has a gorgeous sound and another day it`s all husky! I`m embarassed to play it! Do any of you other flute players have the same problem? If you do, or HAVE had this problem can you give me some advice! PLZ! DON`T BE DISCOURAGED, IT IS NORMAL IF YOU ARE BEGINER IN THE INSTRUMENT. JUST PRACTICE LONG TONES AND INTERVALS,..AND PRACTICE, AND PRACTICE AND PRACTICE AND PRACTICE AND YOULL SEE YOUR REWARD.....A GOOD FLUTE SOUND. GOOD LUCK AND KEEP FORWARD.

same thing happens to me too. its just part of playing the flute. no matter if you`re a begginer of professional, it happens

why dont you try findin the sheet music for some songs that you know? they have out disney sheet music and movie sheet music and such. then try to go along with it. you know how it is supposed to sound, so you can make ur flute playing sound like the song you are trying to play. it gives u a sort of goal to play up to.

Sometimes when my lips are chapped i dont play as well as when they aren`t, so try making ur lips moist when u play.
