I have noticed over the past few months after I got my headjoint re-fit to my flute that there was this black stuff on the end (not the end where you put the headjoint into the barrel but on the end where if you were sharp you pull out a little and there it would be.) I don`t know what this is, it looks like dirt but it wont come off. It looks like there is a crack or a scratch, but there isn`t a scratch there. Any suggestions? I hope you understood. :-)
My other question is that I just got a really sticky pad and I`ve been putting cleaning paper and trying to clean it over and over again. It doesn`t stick for a second but then a few minutes later it starts to stick again. What can I use that will get this pad not sticky or do I have to go to a shop?

I had that problem too. I used cigarette paper and that worked for me, you might try that.
Good Luck,

Without seeing the instrument I can not say what the black stuff is.
However, if you have a pad that sticks on you repeatedly, get it replaced. The couple of bucks you spend will be well worth iy for getting rid of the aggrivation.
